On November 10-11, 2022, the world bore witness to the prowess of automotive innovation as QUARKUS unveiled their P2 prototype at the Ultimate Cup Series, held at the renowned Paul Ricard Circuit. DynaS+ Engineering, with our groundbreaking DEP MeshWorks, proudly supported this significant milestone.

A Revolutionary Collaboration

QUARKUS, an innovative French start-up, has been tirelessly developing a unique car, blending the best features of the LMP2 (Le Mans prototype used for the Endurance Championship) and a LOTUS car. The P2 prototype, a marvel of engineering and design, brings a powerful performance of 300 HP for a 500kg vehicle, harnessing a 1.0 Liter, 4-cylinder hybrid engine, fueled by ethanol, originally from a Kawasaki motorcycle.

Dynas+ Engineering Products has played a pivotal role in the car’s development, providing expertise in areas such as safety in crash scenarios and aerodynamics using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Our flagship product, DEP MeshWorks, is at the heart of this collaboration, facilitating the creation of structural and CFD models and leading parametric optimization coupled with LS-DYNA and LS-OPT.

An Unforgettable Release

Before the Ultimate Cup Series finals, QUARKUS hosted a memorable evening. Damien Alfano, founder and CEO of QUARKUS, along with his team, officially introduced the P2 prototype to the select audience comprising journalists, partners, racing drivers, and distinguished guests. The reception was a grand affair, marked by the enthralling revving of the P2's engine for the first time, a moment that was cherished by all present.

During the event, Damien also honored the ten financial sponsors of QUARKUS with the promise of a VIP acquisition of the next prototype, the "P3", slated for 2023-2024. In an exciting revelation, the prestigious "BRM Chronographes" watchmaker showcased a special edition timepiece, customized to the design and color scheme of QUARKUS.

Making History at the Ultimate Cup Series

The following day, at the renowned Paul Ricard Circuit, Damien Alfano took the QUARKUS P2 for a spin. This live demonstration occurred amidst the thrilling Ultimate Cup Series races, providing attendees a firsthand experience of the P2 in action. As the hybrid engine roared across the track, spectators were given a taste of the P2's capabilities, from its impressive speed to the remarkable sound of its engine.
